We just received some great items for our Tween Room. Some colorful clipboards with paper as shown in the first picture on the left.

Also, an Autograph Photo Frame…what a great birthday gift and everyone at the party can sign it?

We even have an Autograph Pillow Case that could be taken to a slumber party…what fun the girls would have with that!

How about a fun, brightly colored bed caddy that slides under the mattress and keeps all their must haves at their fingertips on the side of their bed?? Now why don’t they make something like this for us big girls? huh?

While these things would make wonderful gifts for birthdays…they also would make a great gift for Valentine’s Day or even Easter Basket fillers -- instead of candy!?! Of course, we have gotten some of that in too…you just have to stop in and check it all out! Hope to see you soon!

New Beads and MORE from Trollbeads!!!

WOW! Wait until you see what the Trollbeads people have been up to!

As a Premier Partner, we will have a very limited amount (we can only get 6 of them!) of a bead called Crazy Lace Agate, the faceted bead to the left in shades of bright pink and magenta. I am hoping it will be in later this week.

Next there is a Spring Bead release with a new Swan Clasp, some unique heart beads, how about a Chick Bead? That is sure to be popular for Easter! A couple of new Tassel Beads…and a wonderful new array of Black & White Italian Quality Glass Beads! For those of you that love the Armadillo beads, there is a new Black Armadillo, or how about a Zebra Bead, shown on the right?? And for all you Soccer Mom’s…there is a Soccer Ball bead!

For those of you that have been looking for a bead to represent a new baby, wait until you see the new glass beads for Baby Boy and Baby Girl! Of course…we’ll be unveiling the NEW ROOM!!! Helllooo…anyone who doesn’t know that…must have just crawled out from under a rock…that is all that we have been talking about for most of the Summer! ;o)

Our reps from Younger Furniture,(11-3 p.m.) and Dash & Albert Rugs (10-12 p.m.) will be here.

It’s all falling into place…

The furniture arrived today!! This is what it looked like out the front door of the store -- I couldn’t fit all the boxes in the picture!

Ten NEW pieces arrived for the BIG REVEAL! They are all jam-packed into the “new” room. We can’t do anything with them until Friday…when we will be closed to pull it all together!!!

We are giddy with excitement for The BIG REVEAL…this has been a long time coming!!!

So remember, we’ll be CLOSED on Friday, September 25th for our final preparations. We’ll see you Saturday, September 26th!! I’ll post a bit later about all the fun things we have planned for you! Including a BIG SALE on Younger Furniture and Dash & Albert Rugs!

A Family Wedding…of sorts…

Last Saturday we went to a wedding. Vickie, who has been a valued part of the store for years, (sure seems as though it’s been from the beginning!) But that is because she was a customer almost from the beginning…and she would come shopping with her two youngest kids when they were young.

Well, this year, her two youngest children were married…in fact they were married within months of each other. Imagine that as parents!

But Saturday was her daughter’s day….and she made the most beautiful bride. It is so hard to believe this is the little girl who used to come shopping with her mother so many years ago.

Congrats to you both, Sara & Devin…this is a new chapter in your life…go forth and make wonderful memories! If the wedding is any indication…you will have a fabulous life together!

It’s Officially Official!!!

The name change on the store is finally complete! We have dotted all our i’s crossed our t’s and the signs went up….and we are officially doing business as Stacy O’s!

This is an exciting chapter in my entrepreneurial journey. And WOW! If anyone had told me what to expect I would never have believed them! The response has been overwhelming! The energy and the positive comments on what we have going on has been amazing! I feel so energized…there is no recession inside Stacy O’s…the positive energy is contagious!

We are going to celebrate the new name and the BIG REVEAL of the Room Redo the last Saturday in September…so mark your calendar. That will be a party you do not want to miss!

Thanks so much for all the encouragement! This is just the BEGINNING!

With our hectic, fast paced lives, so often these holidays just become a three day weekend. We forget their original intention.

Take some time this weekend to reflect on how lucky we are to live FREE, and of the lives of those and their families who have died for our freedom. Pray for the men and women here at home and abroad who are sacrificing so that we are able to continue to live the lives we have so become accustomed to.

I know I am so thankful I was born in this GREAT COUNTRY!! I hope you have a wonderful Independence Day! Be safe.

Fantasy Jasper Beads are Here!

Trollbeads has done it again!

They have introduced their second LIMITED EDITION Bead this Summer!

The Fantasy Jasper Beads come in an array of colors. I am guessing, that it will almost be impossible to find any two that are exactly alike!

Jasper Stone is believed to enhance ideas as well as creativity. Even the different nuances are said to offer special protection: green for harmony, red for justice and violet for well being.

These are extremely limited, currently I am only able to get 12, which I have in stock now…so don’t delay…if these prove to be like the Limited Edition Summer Butterfly…they will be flying out the door!

A Perfect Father’s Day Gift Idea!

For those of you who live in Saginaw…or that grew up in Saginaw. we have a wonderful book for sale in the store about our beloved town. Written by Saginaw native, Kevin Rooker called, Saginaw Then and Now.

The books have gone over extremely well and we have sold quite a few recently for those hard to buy for Dad’s! He’ll thoroughly enjoy the photos and postcard images depicted in this wonderful book!

It’s a wonderful compilation of images from Saginaw’s past and present that anyone and especially those from the area would enjoy.

Changing Our Name...

Check out the "NEW" title at the top of the page! We are in the process of changing the store name....the process is not complete yet, but we needed to start somewhere...and this is as good a place as any!

As most of you know, with the evolution of the store product mix...we found it necessary to change our name to better reflect who we are and where we are headed.

Stacy O's you say??? How does that reflect the direction the store has taken? After much thought and tossing about of many ideas, Stacy O's was thrown out there and it seemed to stick...for some reason it took hold and felt right.

We aren't sure exactly where the store is headed...but in a way I think that is a good thing. My philosophy is that we will continue to evolve through the years to bring to you, what is relevant for the times. With that thought in mind...we wanted a generic, yet personal name that can follow us for the next 18 years and beyond!

You'll be seeing minor changes through the Summer...but get ready for our HUGE kickoff in September...celebrating 18 years and going strong...and loving every minute of it!

Say it...Stacy O's...it has a ring to it doesn't it? Spread the word...and get ready to join in the fun!!! We have plans...BIG plans for our future! And we want you to come along with us!

I've Been Bad....

I have to apologize, I have so much going on that I have been remiss on posting here on the Blog.

We are knee deep in the new plans for the redo of our next room...and in over our heads trying to get all of this wonderful inventory into a computer program!

I have a feeling that Summer 2009, for me...is going to be a blur...but we have great faith that everything will be organized and on track by our fabulous Grand Re-Opening in September! Don't worry...we are NOT shutting down at all...but we are planning a wonderful party for the end of September to unveil our new room...and to celebrate our name change! So stay tuned for that! You don't want to miss out on the fun we have planned!

Where does the time go?

I came to make a post and was shocked to see I haven't posted since February 26!!! Where does the time go, I ask again?? I guess we have been busier around the store than I thought!

So just what have we been up to?? Well, in preparation of redecorating the Front Parlor, a whole slew of things seemed to pop up before we can even attempt that project. :) So I painted the old candle room/sale room/NEW candle room to give it a fresh look before we moved the big cupboards back into it to house the candles.

I moved my office into the wonderfully bright and cheerful side porch, so we could move the sale room into where my office was. And then we moved the merchandise that was in the side porch to the cupboard where the candles were. Whoa...are you confused yet??? (My head is spinning).

And we are in the process of putting a new floor in the entry porch and so I decided maybe that needed to be freshly painted...and so we did that this past Sunday. We still have some touching up to do...but it will come together shortly. :)

Then we will probably close off the ORIGINAL room/reason all this redecorating...so we can strip the wallpaper and work on it's transformation.

We'd love to have you stop by and see just what we have been up to...and I would love your thoughts on what you think we should do to the Front Parlor?? Does anyone have any ideas for colors that you find intriguing ? I am open to ideas and suggestions!

Oh yeah...we received a big order of pictures with wonderful sentiments on them in many sizes...some great new baby items...and our Hammock Chairs arrived! (Another reason I decided to paint the entry porch ;) )

My advice for the winter doldrums?? Decorating projects...they make time fly by!! :) Look...it's Spring already!!

Cabin Fever!!!

I am suffering from a bad case of Cabin Fever! Our winter just keeps going and going...so I have decided to busy myself so I won't think about the weather and how I want it to be nice. We are starting to make some changes around here...moving stuff from the Parlor to the upstairs kitchen to make room for all the clearance merchandise that has been crammed into the room just off the checkout area because that is going to be the first room to get a bit of a face lift.

So pardon our mess when you come in...from great messes...come great things right?? This is just the start in shifting a few rooms around...so stay tuned, we think you'll like what we have planned.....................enjoy the sunshine and remember it's less than a month until the FIRST DAY OF SPRING!!!!!!!!!!!! ;)

What fun!!! We LOVE new stuff!

Well...the fruits of my labors at Market are starting to pay off! Shipments have been arriving daily, and as promised...I'll run down a few of the things here...just to wet your appetite!

We have a new line of pictures from Kelly Rae Roberts, a few of them are pictured on the left...they are wonderful. We hung them a week ago and they're flying! A customer who was trying to decide which one's she wanted (and you can splurge on more than one -- because they are priced from 10.95 to 19.95) said, "I haven't been so excited about something in such a long time!" Thanks for that Colleen! We wholeheartedly agree! :)

The hottest craze right now are 'Conversation Starter Games', and we have added the Tabletopics line to our mix...they come in an acrylic cube and look nice enough to keep out on the table! These 'games' are so much fun...they get you talking about things you probably would never ever talk about...and you learn so much about people, your family...you might even learn something about yourself! ;)

Start a family tradition! I am SO excited about the Hidden Cupcake! This is a wonderfully bright ceramic cupcake that has a removable lid to hide surprises in for special occasions or just because! These would make a great gift for anyone...but I think this would be a fabulous Baby Shower gift! It'll be the hit of the shower!

Hellooo...'Peace Signs' galore!! I'm not sure if you've noticed the reappearance of the Peace Sign? Well, it's celebrating it's 50th Anniversary! We have just received some great new Peace Sign merchandise... scarves, purses, key chains, bracelets & necklaces...and how about a belt with a rhinestone encrusted Peace Sign belt buckle? Oh yeah...LOVE IT!

I want to thank all of the great people that came out for our Trunk Show! WoW! What a fun time we had! I planned on taking pictures...and it got so crazy I totally forgot! I can't believe it! Well there are lots of new customers sporting new bracelets and necklaces and tons of people sporting lots of new beads! Thank you so much!! We had a wonderful time!! There is just something about shared Trollbead camaraderie that puts everyone in good spirits. :)

Woo Hoo! I'm Back From Market!

Well...I am back...after suffering a bit of an automobile glitch on the way home. (I won't bore you with the details!) I am recharged and ready to go!! I found so many GREAT gift ideas...and new home decor items...items too numerous to remember everything we have coming in! You'll have to check back here often...as we get things in...I'll post here when I get the chance...but stop by and see what we've been up to...we have been changing things around...and I am loving it!

I have decided that this year we are going to redecorate the front parlor of the store (how? I hear you wondering?? I don't know yet...but it will come to me...)...prim fans I am so sorry! But the sales just aren't there for us...we have to keep moving in the direction that is working for us.

We are still carrying some prim merchandise, and we hope you can still find things you LOVE even though we don't have the whole store full of it. My hopes are that you will still keep us in mind when you have gifts to buy for your friends & family...heck...you might find something you love too!

I am so excited about what the future holds for us...I love meeting all the new people who have found us...as well as those of you who have stuck with us through all these years...18!!! Can you believe it! :)

We were totally amazed at the turn out and the response to this years Open House! In spite of the rain there was a line of devoted fans waiting to get in! I have to thank you from the bottom of my heart for that! What a way to ring in our 18th Annual Open House!!

We hope you all had just as much fun as we did!! Again, I couldn't have pulled it off without all the elves -- I am truly blessed...they are so devoted. Thanks for such a wonderful weekend!!

Whew!!! Times are CRAZY around here! I am so lucky for all the

devoted gals that work tirelessly to pull this event (and every event) together. I would never be able to pull off this ‘shop thing’ I do, without each and every one of them! I actually remembered to take a few pics before utter chaos broke loose…wait until you see all of our holiday goodies!

There is literally a path through this place at the moment…but we are confident we will have it all together! HA! And yes, somehow it does always come together! If I have the opportunity I will try and post another pic of one of our displays…just a sliver of the wonderfulness you will experience this holiday season with us!

You’ll be able to experience it beginning at 5:00 p.m. Friday night, October 24th! Come and toast the upcoming season with us! We’ll be serving wine and extra goodies on Friday night. They will be passing out flyers with all the details at all the home sporting events this week. Battery Operated Prim Tapers Are In...

And they are going fast!! I thought I ordered enough of them...but they aren't going to last long!

Here's a picture of what they look like...they come in a dark brownish color, cranberry and mustard (shown in the picture). They are dipped in beeswax and have cinnamon on them. They take 2 AA batteries...and are wonderful inside a basket...or anyplace you don't have a convenient plug.

Back to School...

I know...I know...it's STILL July...and there is more than a month before school starts! But I wanted to show off a couple of GREAT FINDS we are bringing in for 'the girl who must have it all!' And who doesn't know someone like that!!! She'll be the envy of her classmates when she carries one of these fabulous backpacks or messenger bags to school this year! They are a plastic coated canvas so they'll stay nice and clean!! And...don't forget the pencil holder and
notepad!

Naughty Nuts!!

Yes sirree...we've got the Naughty Nuts! They come in Nekked which are a smaller lightly salted nut, Flamin' which is a little bit spicy...but not put out the fire spicy - they're just perfect and then the Sweet & Sultry, which is chocolate covered peanut brittle! Oh yeah...they are wonderful tasting...and make great gifts too because the label is so much fun!

But BEWARE!!! You just might be tempted to keep them for yourself!! Do you know someone a little naughty??? Or are you feeling a little naughty yourself??? Whatever the case...you need some Naughty Nuts!! ;)

The Ginormous Yard Sale Is On!!!

Mark your calendars...plans are on for the Ginormous Yard Sale. It's going to be held July 26th from 8:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m., in the back yard of the store. We have a list of people that are going to participate...and I think we are going to have a great bunch of home decor stuff to sell! I am sure there are going to be some great deals to be had!! I'm also hoping to have some fun stuff going on inside the store too -- so don't miss out on the fun!!!

If you think you might be interested in participating as a seller, contact the store. We are just asking for a minimal amount to cover the advertising costs...our ad has gone into the Country Register...so keep a look out for that.

This is the same weekend as the Midland Antique Festival...for those of you that are planning on heading up there...you'll want to check us out on your way there or on your way back! Stay tuned for more details to come as the date approaches!

Tom Smith...What A Good Sport!

A group of us were sitting around during the Summer Gathering ...someone mentioned the Blow Up Jumpy thing that Rent Rite had inflated...someone made a funny remark about who was going to be first to go in...now mind you...there weren't ANY children in the vicinity!

So I throw out...the first person to go inside will get a $10.00 Gift Certificate. Well, Tom Smith of "Real Men Come Inside" fame, nonchalantly said, "I'll do it." WHAT A GREAT SPORT!!!

Look closely at the first picture, I had trouble getting a good one...but he's in there jumping around! And, that's him in the picture on the right, after his bouncing adventure. Between you and me, I am dying to know if he was sore the next day! I know I would be...I am SURE that would have pulled some muscles and jammed some body parts that aren't used to that kind of abuse...I mean activity ...HA!

But he's a good sport, and yes, his lovely wife, Kathy gladly spent the gift certificate!

For those of you wondering...yes, this is the SAME Tom Smith that is quoted on the sign outside the store, "Real Men Come Inside." :)

Our Summer Gathering

I have to apologize...I have been so busy trying to catch up since the event...and then I had a Surprise Retirement Party for my hubby this past weekend...so I have neglected things here. But it's now time to get back to business!

Back to the Summer Gathering..we had a blast! Unfortunately, I didn't get many pictures once things got underway, but I'll be changing the slide show in the left sidebar..there are some great pictures of our decorations and the few pics, like 2 or 3, I took once things got off the ground.

The weather held off for us...and actually got quite nice! We gave away lots of goodies and gift certificates! Like the Lt. Moses Rooster Lamp to Deb & Dan Majchrzak, who sunk a hole in one at the Putting Game! That's the lovely couple in the picture!

And, in spite of having to have the power turned off TWICE! What are the chances of that!! A transformer just up the road blew and they had to fix it...but the Consumers Energy guys were so sweet and worked quickly so it wouldn't be off long each time...it just added some fun to our event....hehehe.

I have to say, we could never have pulled off this event without our neighbors, Rent Rite! They allowed us to use ANYTHING they had for rent for this party! Now how great a company is that! For anyone who hasn't been inside their store...you would be amazed at all the party gear they have to rent! Check them out next time you come to the store...they are a great group of people!

Look for my next post...about a very loving husband...and the lengths he won't go to for his sweet wife...and no, I'm not talking about my own husband. :)

The Event WILL Go On ~ Rain OR Shine!!!

The weatherman is throwing us a curve...he's saying it might rain on Friday...now WHEN have you ever heard it rains on the FIRST DAY OF SUMMER! ;) (For those of you that are scratching your heads saying, "May 30th is not the first day of Summer?" go down a couple of posts and you'll understand what I'm talking about.)

Well, I am taking a break from the preparations just long enough to let you know...the weatherman has a 50/50 chance of getting it right...and you all know what I talking about there...this IS Michigan you know!

While I have put my order in for a SUNNY & WARM day, we're just letting you know we are prepared for anything, just in case the he gets it right! ;)

A little rain can't get us down...because we have dusted off our party shoes and there's no stopping us now!

AT HOME with Summer Gathering!

We don't care what the calendar says...Summer starts on Friday, May 30th!!

This event is going to be HUGE!! It's sort of our way of saying THANK YOU to YOU our customer. Joe will be at the grill, we'll be sampling lots of new gourmet food items that have just arrived. Wear your flip flops and get 10% OFF all gourmet food items!

We're partnering with our neighbor, Rent Rite. They have been kind enough to allow us to use lots of great items they offer for party rental...AND we'll be showcasing some unique outdoor decorating ideas...I know Rent Rite has even more stuff up their sleeve!

It should be a fun night! We plan on kicking off the Summer in a grand way! Some great new product lines will be unveiled. Prizes and surprises all night long...you haven't truly partied until you've partied with us!

I'm So Excited I Could Burst!!!

I just had to share this...it was supposed to be a surprise...to be unveiled at our BIG Event on May 30th...(more details on the event will be coming in the next day or so.) But I can't keep this under wraps!!

We have ME! Bath! coming in! Me! Bath! you say...what's that! Well, see those ice cream cones on the Oprah cover? They are actually bath bombs!! They call them Bath Ice Cream!! How cool are those?!? And we're going to have them!

Because they are based in LA, they are favorites of lots of celeb's...and we are going to have them right here in little 'ol Saginaw! Wait until you see them in person!!

We all need to pamper ourselves more...and what a great and fun way to do it!! They'll be unveiled at the BIG EVENT!! Stay tuned for that!

How About A Ginormous Yard Sale!?

Who out there doesn't have home decor items they need to get rid of?

For years so many people would comment that they wished I had a consignment area for them to get rid of things they didn't want anymore. So that started me thinking....how about having a Ginormous Yard Sale? We have the yard, on a busy street...and people flock to group yard sales! We'll do some advertising...and the people will come!

We are taking names of people interested in taking part in this event...we are thinking it will be the end of July...if you think you might be interested in taking part, call the store (989-793-2583) and leave your name...we are just gauging interest at this point.

Here's the deal...we don't want anything but home decor items...no appliances, no clothes, no tools...JUST HOME DECOR. You will be responsible for your own space, we are just offering the venue to sell your wares.

This could be a great place to find something you might need for your own home, help furnish your child's apartment at college, even something for those just starting out! The possibilities are endless! So if you think you might be interested...give us a call!

Mother's Day is this Sunday!

I hope you have great plans to celebrate this 100th Anniversary of the day set aside for all the wonderful mom's out there!

For those of you who still have shopping to do, we have in stock wonderful pictures and frames with wonderful heartfelt sayings for mom and about families -- that will show mom just how much you care. Well...Vacation is Over...

Hey All!

I'm back...we had a wonderful time in Florida and the girls held down the fort wonderfully while I was away!! I've only downloaded a few pics from the trip so I'll post a few of those until I get the rest downloaded from my camera. Though, you won't find any of me on the beach...I wonder why? hehehe

The darling girl is my niece/goddaughter, Karli in her Easter dress. Mom and I got to spend a few days alone with her before THE PARENTS came and spoiled everything. She turned 3 in January and we love her to pieces-- and don't get to see her nearly enough!

I also posted a pic of her with her parents...my little brother, Jeff ( I say that tongue in cheek as he's 6'3") and his wife Karen, they live outside of Atlanta and are our halfway stop on our way down to Bonita Springs...I have to be nice to them because they give me free room and board when I head down to the Atlanta Market. Gotta love that!! We all had a great time...but it's never long enough.

I hope you all got the chance to escape the harsh winter we had this year...WOWWIE! It was a doosey!! But I think we can say it's over? Maybe I'll just whisper that last sentiment...you never know...we ARE in Michigan!

Who Gobbled Up All The Prim Tapers??

The girls tell me we have sold out of the battery operated grubby prim tapers we got in just before I left on vacation! Wowwie!! I had forgotten to get a picture of them before I left town, so I don't have one to post here -- dang it! For those of you who are wanting them...we'll be getting them back in stock very shortly!!

They are here! These games are great...and are meant to spark conversations. There are some for the younger girls, ages 8+ -- like Truth or Dare, Camp Bunk & Slumber Party, we did get Slumber Party in the smaller size, which is a great Easter Basket filler...along with the great bead kits we have in.

There is also, Family Dinner for the whole family and then some for the older girls 18+, like Girls Night Out, Girlfriends & Happy Birthday...stop in and check them out soon...they are a great gift idea!
